What Brand24 is
Brand24 is a social listening suite. You give it keywords — your brand, your competitors, a product name — and it monitors most of the public internet for them: Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, Quora, Medium, Twitch, plus news, blogs, review sites, newsletters and podcasts. Every mention gets sentiment analysis, and the stream is turned into dashboards and daily or weekly reports. Higher tiers add AI insights, event detection, an AI brand assistant and advanced reporting.
It has been around long enough to be mature, and it is built for a specific person: someone on a brand, PR or marketing team whose job is to know what is being said about the company, prove it in a deck, and catch a crisis early. Reviewers on G2 and Capterra consistently praise the interface and the real-time coverage, and that matches what the product is designed around — breadth, speed and reporting.
Pricing, plan by plan
Brand24 prices are enterprise-shaped, and the metered units tell you who each plan is for. Monthly, as read in August 2026:
- Individual — $249/month: 3 keywords, 2,000 mentions a month. Sized for one brand name and a couple of product names.
- Team — $349/month: more keywords and mentions, and the seats a small marketing team needs.
- Pro — $499/month: the AI insights and reporting tier most mid-size teams end up on.
- Business — $699/month: 25 keywords, and the volume ceilings a multi-brand company needs.
- Enterprise — from $1,499/month: custom limits, advanced reporting and support.
- Every plan: a 14-day trial with no card, and a 30-day money-back guarantee — confident selling at this price, and worth using to size your mention volume before you commit.
What it does well
Coverage is the headline. If a customer complains on a podcast, a trade blog, a review site and a subreddit in the same week, Brand24 sees all four in one feed, and no Reddit-only tool can say that. Sentiment across that volume is genuinely useful at ten thousand mentions a month, where nobody is reading each one.
The reporting survives contact with a marketing department: daily and weekly summaries, share-of-voice, trend lines, and exports that go straight into the slide someone has to present. And crisis detection matters in a way that is easy to underrate until the day it fires — hours count when something goes wrong publicly, and the higher tiers are built to shorten them.
Where it falls short
Three keywords at $249 a month is the number to sit with. A brand team can live inside it — the company name, the flagship product, the CEO. A founder trying to find customers cannot, because leads do not mention your brand; they describe a problem in a hundred phrasings, and three slots do not cover a hundred phrasings. The keyword cap is not unfair, it is the product telling you it was priced for someone else.
The second gap is what happens after a mention arrives. Brand24’s pipeline ends in knowing: a dashboard, a sentiment score, a report. It does not tell you which of today’s Reddit threads is worth replying to, does not check whether that subreddit allows you to, and does not draft anything. For a listening tool that is the correct scope. For someone whose Friday deliverable is five replies actually sent, it is the part that is missing.
The third is simply the price relative to the job. Nobody should pay $249 a month to find four Reddit threads, and quite a few people try to.
Brand24 for Reddit specifically
Brand24 covers Reddit as one source among twenty, and it does that well: mentions of your keywords in posts and comments arrive in the same feed as everything else, with sentiment. What it does not do is treat Reddit as a place with local law. It will not tell you that the subreddit bans self-promotion before you reply, will not route the lead to a DM instead, and has no view on posting cadence or promo threads. None of that generalises across platforms, which is precisely why suites do not build it.
If Reddit is the only channel you care about, you are paying for nineteen others. If Reddit is one of many and you want it reported alongside them, Brand24 is doing exactly its job.
Who should buy it
Buy Brand24 if you are a brand, PR or marketing team that needs cross-platform listening, sentiment trends and deck-ready reports, or an early alarm for a public crisis. It is good at that, it is priced for that, and the trial plus money-back window make it cheap to confirm.
Do not buy it to find Reddit leads for a small product. Three keywords, a listening-shaped output and a $249 floor will all fight you, and the disappointment gets blamed on the tool when it was a species error — buying a listening suite to do a lead tool’s job.
Alternatives, by job
The category splits into three products that get shopped as one, so the right alternative depends on which half of Brand24 you would actually use:
- You want the listening suite, but API-first and metered by mentions: Octolens, from $199/month, delivers the same breadth as structured data for product-led teams.
- You want a fast, wide alarm without the dashboards: Syften, from $29.95/month, watches Reddit within a minute and a dozen other communities besides.
- You want a free alarm for Reddit and Hacker News: F5Bot. It is the correct first tool for almost everyone.
- You want Reddit leads with the reply drafted and the subreddit’s rules already checked: that is what ReplyHey does, from $34.99/month with no keyword cap, and it is also what Pulse for Reddit and RedShip compete for.
Verdict
Brand24 is a strong, mature listening suite for teams that report on what the internet says about them, and it is honest about what it is: the coverage is real, the reporting is real, and so is the price. It is the wrong tool for a founder trying to find customers on Reddit — not because it is bad, but because it was never built for that person, and its own plan limits say so.
Use the 14-day trial the way it is meant to be used: load your real keywords, watch a week of mentions, and ask whether the output is something you would present or something you would act on. That answers the question better than this review can.
