Why this is the rule that matters

“No self-promotion” is at least four different policies wearing the same words. Some subs ban links but let you name a product. Some allow it only in a weekly thread. Some gate it behind karma or account age. And the failure is silent: an AutoModerator removal still looks like a normal comment on your own profile, so people spend weeks posting into a void.

The expensive version is not the comment or even the account — it is the domain. Once your URL is on a subreddit’s filter list, other people mentioning you get removed too, and a new account does not fix that.

Where do these verdicts come from?+

From each subreddit’s own published rules, read directly and re-checked on a schedule. The date we last read them is on every page, because subreddits change their rules — usually quietly, after a wave of spam.

Does "promotion allowed" mean I can post a link?+

It means the subreddit’s rules do not ban self-promotion outright. It is not a licence to drop a link: most subs that allow it still expect you to answer the question first and disclose that it is your product. Read the sidebar before you post — the rules are the floor, not the ceiling.

Why is my subreddit not listed?+

The list only includes subreddits whose live rules have actually been read. Anything unverified is left out rather than published as a guess, because a wrong "yes" here costs someone their account.

What do I do when promotion is banned?+
